7 Wonders of the Ancient World

My father was a history teacher so as you can imagine as a young son I was quite enthralled with bedtime stories from the past.  My imagination would be completely captured as dad painted with vivid detail the events that would eventually shape our world as we know it.  These stories have followed me into my adult life and as such from time to time come up in conversations with colleagues, associates, team members and friends.  In saying that I happened to have a conversation the other day with a dear friend of mine as we were discussing the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.

1.   Great Pyramid of Giza
2.   Colossus of Rhodes
3.   Lighthouse of Alexandria
4.   Statue of Zeus at Olympia
5.   Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
6.   Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
7.   Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Of all 7 wonders only one is still standing in existence.  It is also the oldest one on this list.  That is the Great Pyramid of Giza.  This brought us to asking the question why is that?  The conclusion is simply because of the solid foundation of the structure itself.

As we experience relationships and business opportunities we can refer to the ancient Egyptians on building a strong foundation to achieve our grand designs.  One brick at a time until our vision is truly realized. Never over estimate what you can accomplish in one year, and never under estimate what you can accomplish in 10.
